SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Pick n Pay Sedgefield Eagle Stars experienced mixed results in their First Division A clashes against Happy Hearts at the Brandwag sports grounds this past Saturday.
They went down 29-31 in a tense encounter after trailing 15-19 at halftime, despite a spirited fightback featuring four tries. Tries were scored by Adriaan Konstabel, Junaid Ruiters, Michael Whyne and Waiden Gendy, keeping the visitors in contention until the final whistle.
Happy Hearts crossed five tries to secure the narrow victory.
The B side delivered a 20-19 win after overturning a 10-13 halftime deficit with a disciplined second-half performance.
Captain Lee Roy Hartzenberg and vice-captain Rameon Krige led the way as Eagle Stars held firm under pressure to secure valuable league points.
