PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Vroom, vroom! The Women Riders World Relay (WRWR) is coming to Plett on 17 January.
That is when the official full throttle launch of the WRWR South Africa takes place at Slops in Main Street.
Colette Dart, a real estate agent with Plett Realty, was announced as South African ambassador for WRWR 2026.
She rides locally with the HDCSA Garden Route Chapter and will be hosting the launch to kick off the global relay year.
"All female riders and pillions, whether it's a road bike, off-road bike or scooter, is invited to attend the event. There are goodie bags for the first 50 ladies that register," said Dart.
Legacy
In 2019, WRWR achieved something the world had never seen before. They connected more than 20 000 women from 102 countries to create the largest motorcycle relay in history.
It wasn't just a ride - it reshaped the motorcycling landscape and ignited lifelong connections among women riders worldwide. In true WRWR style, they're now continuing the baton-passing legacy and gearing up to shake the world all over again.
"Our goal is to connect every single woman rider in the world! We've engineered a tool to make it possible - the WRWR app," said Hayley Bell and Liza Miller, joint CEOs.
"This is not just an app - this is our key to connecting and celebrating women riders worldwide, one virtual baton pass at a time. Women globally are responding to our call and sharing our enthusiasm for this monumental challenge."
The event provides an opportunity to meet our South African ambassador, Dart, and receive a golden baton pass that will earn riders bonus points.
Dart can be contacted on 083 704 4045.
