KNYSNA NEWS - The team at KnysnaX Sporting Events was finally able to kick off its trail run series earlier last month, with its inaugural summer run taking place around Blackwaters River Lodge.
The team from KnysnaX has seen its events postponed or cancelled on a number of occasions, largely due to Covid-19-related regulation changes.
But organisers have remained determined to host their trail run series.
The KnysnaX Trail Series Summer Run event was held on Sunday 2 January, starting at Blackwaters River Lodge.
The 18km route with its spectacular views and steeped in history followed the railway from town all the way to Blackwaters. The ladies' category was won by Lindi Georgiou and the men's winner was Mark van Zyl.
The 9km fun run route followed scenic trails along the pine plantations above Blackwaters River Lodge and those runners saw some beautiful views of Groenvlei and the old Knysna Choo Tjoe bridge.
The next KnysnaX Trail Series event, the autumn edition, will take place on 3 April at Blackwaters River Lodge.
