A kilogram of prawns was available at a bargain price and throughout the day, this indulgence was accompanied by top class racing.
The crowd figure of 7 000 spoke for the increased popularity of this annual event.
The main race of the day was the Grade 3 Vasco Prix Du Cap in which some top class fillies clashed over 1 400m. The race lived up to its billing and in an exciting contest, Cuvee Brut trained by Brett Crawford, won under a fine ride by Anton Marcus.
The supporting feature was the CTS Chairman’s Cup and this marathon handicap event over 3 200m was won by King Of Pain trained by Joey Ramsden was ridden by Bernard Fayd’herbe.
