PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plettenberg Bay, which has fast become a mecca for mountain bike riding enthusiasts over recent years, now has even more to offer. This week, Sky Park launched a number of new trails.
They come courtesy of TrailLynx, a trail association in Plettenberg Bay created by the well-known trail builder Johan Vorster, who was responsible for creating a trails network in and around town over the past two years.
The latest trails are easily accessible from The Hub opposite Old Nick Village where there is a convenient new parking area and a space to prepare for a ride.
From there, riders can choose to explore the new trails on the slopes below the Sky Villa Boutique Hotel or ride across to Sky Park and try the crafted "flowlines" and loop trails.
To gain access, riders can download the MySOS app at the start of the trail.
To celebrate the new trails, Sky Park will also be hosting a small XC Enduro on 16 December from Sky Villa.
"This is a fun mountain bike event with five timed stages," Vorster said. All the stages are set to be family friendly and the race distance will be about 18km with about 650m of elevation. E-bikes will be welcome. Tickets for the Enduro can be booked on Quicket.
