SPORTS NEWS - A local oval track racer won the 2022 SA Nationals in Bloemfontein last weekend after the nationals had been cancelled for two years due to Covid-19.
Mossel Bay resident, Christopher Burisch, is a member of the George Motor Club and an employee of CC Concrete in Voorbaai, owned by his father, Clive Burisch.
Last weekend, 2 and 3 September, at the Schoemanspark Speedway, Christopher won the 2.1 four-cylinder modified saloon class in his Opel Corsa, modified with Toyota beams.
Christopher has been racing since the age of 15. He won the Nationals for 1660s in 2016 and is a multiple club champion at George Motor Club.
On the night he won the Nationals for 1660s at Tygerberg Raceway, he proposed to his wife Chantell. They got married on 7 April 2018 and their first daughter, Ava, was born on 1 July 2019.
Christopher's second daughter, Zoë, is due to be born on 27 September.
