KNYSNA NEWS - Two boxers from Dam-se-Bos-based Masiphakame Boxing Club will be heading off to the national championships after triumphing at the provincial championships last weekend.
Anathi Mbalo (18) and Emihle Nelson (17), both learners at Percy Mdala High School, took part in the Western Cape Open Boxing Organisation's Youth and Elite Boxing Championships held at the Rosemoor Community Hall in George on 28 and 29 May.
Having triumphed in their divisions, they have been named as part of the Western Cape contingent that will take part in the national championships in Gqeberha later this year.
Nelson's participation in nationals will be her debut at the level, and Mbalo will not only be taking part for the second time but will also be looking to defend her title in the Junior Middleweight Division.
