KNYSNA NEWS - Players and supporters at the Knysna Primary School’s hockey festival braved bitterly cold weather today Saturday 26 July, but the excitement of the day raised temperatures all round.
About 580 young hockey players, boys and girls, ranging from U7 to U13, packed the sports fields at Knysna High School, where the event took place.
About eight schools from Plettenberg Bay, Sedgefield, Knysna, Oudtshoorn and Port Elizabeth took part.
Marandré Brits, head of hockey at Knysna Primary said it was a daunting task to organise the festival.
“But we do it for the love of the game. We just want to make sure everyone gets a chance to play- and enjoy it,” she said.
