KNYSNA NEWS – The 2023 Knysna Motor Show is now only a matter of days away, and there is plenty to look out for this weekend. With more than 120 vehicles across 15 different categories and spanning 112 years of motorsport, as well as a small display of classic boats, this Sunday promises to be more than just your ordinary car show.
One of the highlights of the weekend promises to be the Back to the Future section that will feature three incredible cars – a 1910 De Dion Bouton Type CD, a 1982 DeLorean DMC 12 (yes, the one from the movies), and finally the absolutely thrilling 2021 Lamborghini Huracan Evo.
While these will undoubtedly draw the eyes and have everybody reminiscing on their childhood days, wishing they can pop open the doors of a DeLorean and go back to the future, we must keep in mind that these are merely a taste of what is in store.
With a total of 15 different display categories, there is bound to be something for everyone.
There will be a display of cars taking part in next week's Simola Hillclimb with six classic cars on show and one King of the Hill competitor, the 2022 Lotus Birkin 7. Speaking of fast cars, don't miss out on the supercar display, which will feature 11 cars packed with sheer power, ranging from a 1935 Ford Jensen to a 2019 Alfa Romeo 4C.
Speaking of the Italian car manufacturer, there will also be a display category dedicated to Alfa Romeos past and present.
Beyond that, a spectacular display of 30 performance cars will also be on show including Austin Healeys, Ford Mustangs, a Pontiac Firebird and much more.
And what would a motor show be without a few motorbikes? Well for starters it wouldn't be the Knysna Motor Show, because there will be a small display of classic motorcycles during this year's show.
This would probably be a great time to let you know that the purchasing of a Knysna Motor Show ticket will come with the added bonus of granting you free entry to the Motorcycle Room on Thesen Islands. There they house an incredible collection of rare, special and exotic motorcycles second to none.
Tickets for the 2023 Knysna Motor Show, which will be held on Thesen Islands this Sunday between 10:00 and 16:00, will cost you R40 while children 12 and under are granted free entry. You can buy tickets online at WebTickets or at the gate on the day.
