Kevin Evans of Plettenberg Bay won the men’s 80km mountain bike race on Saturday in a time of 02:57, with James Reid coming in a close second in 02:58:42 and Johan Rabie taking the third spot on the podium in 02:59:44.
The ladies’ 80 km mountain bike race was dominated by Candice Neethling who took first place in 03:24:04, followed by Mariske Strauss and Ischen Stopforth in second (03:27:27) and third place (03:38:02) respectively.
Road race
The men’s division 80km road race was won by Nolan Hoffman on Sunday, with a time of 01:54:58. Christoff van Heerden took second position and Tyler Day secured the third place.
Andriette Schoeman won the ladies’ 80km road race in 01:56:22, followed by Mariske Strauss in second position and Heidi Dalton closing the top ranks.
Children's race
On Sunday, June 30, a large crowd enjoyed the island festivities at the Spur Steak Ranches Rotary Knysna Children Cycle Tour at Steenbok Park, Leisure Isle. Children of all sizes were a delight to watch as they cycled around the 2.4km route, everyone having a wonderful time.
