HORNLEE NEWS - Bodyfitness (Khayalethu) edged Knysna Loeries 26 - 25 in a gripping final to win the 2026 Mayoral Cup netball tournament on Saturday, 4 April.
The match lived up to its billing, with both teams displaying sharp passing, excellent ball control and relentless intensity.
The score remained level for three quarters before Bodyfitness goal shooter Nelia Mpamba made the decisive impact, converting crucial chances under pressure to seal the narrow victory.
Knysna Loeries matched their opponents throughout, with Shakira Kamfer delivering a standout tournament performance to earn both Player of the Tournament and Best Defender honours.
Mpamba and Logan Bezuidenhout (Knysna Loeries) were named best shooters, while Rakeisha Stevens and Aviwe Nkuzo (Titans Netball Academy) took top midfield honours.
Bodyfitness claimed the senior title, with Knysna Loeries finishing second and Titans Netball Academy third, capping off a highly competitive and entertaining tournament.
All Blacks (Plett/Knysna) won the men's senior title.
