KNYSNA NEWS - Nine students from Carmen’s School of Dance recently entered into the George Dance Eisteddfod held on Saturday 18 August at the Arts Theatre.
The students, Asia Francis, Jessi Francis, Celyn Godfrey, Sulita Herrington, Alison Kolbe, Danyelle Kolbe, Madison Starkey, Amber Trautmann and Milani Xhongo entered a variety of items in both the solo and group categories, in genres ranging from classical ballet, to demi-character ballet, to national ballet.
A total of 20 separate dance items were entered, with the following studio results achieved: 6 x A+++, 9 x A++, 4 x A+ and 1 x A – all achieved gold status.
The eisteddfod was superbly run and it really was such a fabulous experience for all the students. We hope that the studios and their students will continue to support this festival, as we are lucky to have such a fantastic event, promoting all different styles of art, in this area.
