PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Plett Caddies Tour 2026 came to a close after four days of competitive golf across several top courses in the region, with tight contests, standout performances and a fitting finale at St Francis Links.
The tour teed off recently at Hankey Golf Club, where players were met with slightly wet conditions, but otherwise pleasant weather.
Despite the early challenges, scoring remained impressive with four players sharing the individual lead on 38 points.
In the Betterball format, the pairing of Ricardo Petersen and Cedrick Leonard set the pace early with a strong 45 points, closely followed by Vincent Windvogel and Cleveland Zana on 44 points.
Day 2 introduced a fresh challenge at Wedgewood Golf & Country Estate, where the Ryder Cup format tested the field on a demanding layout. After the opening 18 holes, Team Ernie edged ahead with a 2 & 1 advantage.
On Day 3 at the windy Walmer Golf Club, the Ryder Cup Singles produced standout performances, with Team Rasta responding strongly to secure a 4 & 2 victory.
The result saw Team Rasta crowned Ryder Cup Champions 2026 with an overall 5-4 win.
The final day at the iconic St Francis Links delivered a fitting climax. In the Betterball competition, Petersen and Leonard mounted a strong comeback to tie Windvogel and Zana on 85 points overall, sharing the honours after a tightly contested finish.
The Individual competition went down to the wire, with Ricardo Petersen ultimately crowned overall champion on 72 points, narrowly ahead of his partner Cedrick Leonard on 71 points.
The organisers praised all participants for a tour defined by sportsmanship and memorable golf and thanked sponsors for their continued support in growing the event.
