KNYSNA NEWS - On Wednesday, December 9, Simola Hotel Country Club & Spa was adorned by ladies in "50 shades of green".
With golf being such a popular Garden Route pastime and contributing to the economic successes of this area, Mrs Joanne Osner Kaschula wanted to host the ladies for a one-of-a-kind Ladies At Home Golf Day.
The weather played along beautifully as a hundred ladies gathered in the hotel foyer for breakfast nibbles and coffee while others opted for a glass of bubbly and a complementary shoulder pressure-point massage in the Simola Spa's new luxurious lounge.
The aim was to encourage the ladies to support Family SA's (Famsa) fundraising efforts by purchasing raffle tickets to win the grand prize valued at R8 100 and a pro shot on the tricky second tee by Simola's club champ Phillip Venter.
Kaschula, a counselling psycologist and volunteer supervisor at Famsa herself, was generous enough to hand the full proceeds of more than R8 000 to Famsa.
The Simola operations team were blown away by the incredible support of local businesses as well as suppliers in the form of prizes, sponsorship of waterholes, beverages and goodie bag spoils for the ladies.
The air was filled with festivity as the ladies laughed their way through the day, dressed up and sporting some very elaborate outfits while competing for the best-dressed four-ball.
A delicious lunch was enjoyed in the club lounge, along with live music and a Cointreau Fizz masterclass, followed by the prize-giving.
