SEDGEFIELD GOLF NEWS - Golfers descended on Sedge Links on Wednesday 30 September for one of its four annual seasonal golf days, with last week being the turn for spring to play its best hand.
With the course looking in very good nick, a full field of golfers (72) started out the day at Sedgefield's mashie course, which is nestled in a neatly compacted arrowhead-shaped piece of land just off the N2, a few kilometres outside of town.
The day was played in the medal format, and when it came time for prize-giving, Willem de Villiers and Daleen Schooling were tops in the nearest-to-the-pin stakes.

In the prize-winning places, Doug Tillie finished sixth (57 shots) on a count-out with Peter Schnetler fifth (57) on the better end of the count-out.
In fourth place was Almarie Mead (56), third Dave Maylon (54, count-out) and second, Jan Potgieter (54, count-out).
But, there could only be one winner, and on the perfect spring day, Rudy Bosch came out tops with a five-under-par score of 53.
