KNYSNA NEWS - The 4th edition of Golfing for Nature, held recently at the Pezula Championship Golf Course, proved to be a major success, drawing 120 golfers to support SANParks Honorary Rangers Knysna.
The fundraising event focused on raising vital funds for critical projects aimed at protecting South Africa's natural heritage.
Information centres
SANParks Honorary Rangers Knysna are using the proceeds to sponsor the development of two new information centres, in Harkerville and Diepwalle, as well as a new walkway at the old airfield.
Training programmes
The funds will also go towards maintaining hiking huts and expanding training programmes for new SANParks rangers.
The tournament, played in a 2-ball/better-ball format, offered various competitions to keep the participants engaged, such as the Pool-in-One and chipping contests.

Sports icons
A highlight of the day was the appearance of sports icons such as Percy Montgomery and Barry Richards, and former North West province premier Popo Simon Molefe, who joined in the fun.
Sponsors and supporters, including Pam Golding, Morgan Solus Ltd, and Pezula Nature Retreat and Spa, were instrumental in ensuring the event's success.
Participants were treated to refreshments at the holes.
Silent auction
The day also featured a German bockwurst stop and a beer-tasting session courtesy of Red Bridge Brewery. Additionally, a silent auction raised even more funds, offering a range of exciting prizes, including artworks and golf vouchers.
The winning duo, Rob and Beverley Crouse, were delighted to take home prizes from Pezula Hotel and Scratch Golf, capping off a memorable day of sport and philanthropy.
