KNYSNA NEWS - Simunye's hopes of tasting the regional league title were dashed last weekend when they went down against Voota (Knysna) at the Lawaaikamp Stadium in George.
After coming back from 1-0 down, Voota earned maximum points away from home when they punished Simunye FC 2-1 in a tough game.
Voota and Simunye are fighting to reach the top five on the log table.
Both sides were playing entertaining football throughout the game with Voota absorbing the pressure from the home team's wingers and Simunye's Afika Tywetywe playing a dominant role in the centre of the field.
However, the star of the game was Voota's Khanyiso Fatyela, who scored a brace.
Siyabonga "Mpumlo" Miggels of Simunye netted the first goal.
Khanyiso Fatyela soon levelled the score and managed his brace with a great header later in the first half.
With the score on 2-1, Simunye had the opportunity to redeem themselves through a penalty, but failed to score, and Voota earned maximum points with their 2-1 victory.
