PLETTENBERGBAY NEWS - Slam Football Club’s U11 side enjoyed a dream debut in organised football last weekend clinching the title at a junior tournament hosted at Kwanokuthula Stadium.
The young team showed resilience and determination throughout, advancing confidently to the final in their first campaign in structured local competition.
Slam FC sealed their fairytale run with a commanding 4-0 victory over Juventus in an entertaining final. Individual honours followed, with goalkeeper Indiphile Stamper named best shot-stopper of the tournament, while teammate Sikhanyisile Ntloko was crowned player of the tournament.Head coach Athenkosi Mafele praised the team’s performance.
“I am very proud of the boys. It was their first structured tournament, and they delivered a perfect performance,” he said.
Mafele added that the young side has a bright future ahead and is capable of achieving many more successes.
