KNYSNA SPORTS NEWS - This weekend sees the 9th match day of the English Premier League taking place. Front runner Liverpool is still on a winning streak having won all of their games in the tournament so far. The Reds are the leader on the log with 24 points.
In second place is last year’s title winners Manchester City with 16 points, followed by Arsenal, Leicester City and Chelsea. Here are some of the matches to look forward to this weekend.
Everton is taking on West Ham United at Goodison Park on Saturday. This has been a slow start for Everton who is currently sitting 18th on the log. They have only won one of the last five matches and this should be West Ham United’s game. The second game of the Saturday clashes will be between Brighton and Aston Villa at home for Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Brighton and Aston Villa is sitting on 14th and 15th place at the bottom of the log. Both teams have lost two of their last matches and drawn two and won one match in their last five matches.
Saturday sees Tottenham Hotspurs taking on Watford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Tottenham has fallen in the ranking this year, they are currently sitting on the number 9 spot. This should be an easy match for Tottenham because Watford still needs to win a match in this year’s competition and is sitting at the bottom of the log. Wolves take on South Hampton at home this Saturday. Wolves have done relatively well this season having won two of their last games.
New Castle will travel to Stamford Bridge to take on the Blues on Saturday. New Castle is close to the bottom of the log with 8 points and has only won one of their last couple of matches. Bournemouth is playing a home game against Norwich City. Norwich is second last on the log with only one win to their name this year. Leicester City will be welcoming Burnley FC to King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Leicester is currently 4th on the log and this will be an interesting match to watch on Saturday. Manchester City will be travelling to Selhurst Park on Saturday for the match against Crystal Palace, this will be another good game to follow.
