PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The South African Football Association's (Safa) Eden Region will host the prestigious Western Cape event, the Hollywoodbets Regional League Championship, in just over a week.
The contest, playoffs between Regional League winners, will take place on 20 and 21 July at Kwanokuthula Stadium in Plettenberg Bay.
For the third division playoffs, for promotion to the ABC Motsepe Provincial League in the 2024/2025 season, the six Regional winners will be placed in two groups, and the winners in the groups will be automatically promoted.
If things go according to Bitou Young Pirates' plans, they will become the second team from Plettenberg Bay to gain promotion to the Provincial League, following in the footsteps of the Oriented Birds Football Club.

- Cape Town Region - Vasco Da Gama FC.
- Eden Region - Bitou Young Pirates FC.
- Cape Winelands - Mbekweni Cosmos FC.
- West Coast Region - Diaz Leeds FC.
- Overberg Region - Bazuka FC.
- Central Karoo - Not confirmed.
The head coach of Bitou Young Pirates, Sinovuyo Mannie, said claiming the Safa Eden Hollywoodbets Regional League title was "a special feeling" for him.
Shared vision
He said the "vibe and the atmosphere" among his players were good, and that the players "are hungry and working towards the same vision of pushing and going beyond boundaries".
On preparations, he said "so far so good - they (players) have been working very hard and the preparations are going smoothly, no issues".
The team's management had been supportive of him, giving him the freedom to lead the team well, and they were providing him with whatever he asked for.
He said the team needed to be at the top of their game in the playoffs, and they needed Bitou communities and the Eden Region to rally behind them, especially as they were playing in their "back yard".
He wished to see supporters backing Bitou Young Pirates in greater numbers during the upcoming championship.
