KNYSNA FOOTBALL NEWS - The latest winners of the Knysna Local Football Association's Industrial Division, Food Lovers Market, were finally handed their well-deserved trophy last week, just under two months after their last game.
The Industrial Division of the KLFA's football structures is a platform for local businesses or organisations to enter a team that plays either under their company / organisation name or a name of their choosing.
The 2021 Industrial season was competed by eight teams and was played over June and July, with the games typically played midweek at Loerie Park.
Defending champions and the only winners of the division until this year, Simola, were on a quest to retain their title once again, but the rest of the sides were determined to see the trophy change hands for the first time.

One of their most fervent competitors was Food Lovers Market, whom Simola beat on penalties in the Easter Tournament final in April. Food Lovers Market was determined to get one back on Simola and managed to do just that, by going unbeaten throughout their entire 2021 Industrial Division campaign, overcoming every challenge that came their way.
Their final game was played on 1 July against Ubuntu Finances, a match that Food Lovers Market won 2-0 via a walkover.
Due to the Covid-19 regulations, an official trophy handover couldn't take place at the time. But, once it could take place, the KLFA handed over the trophy to the first-time champions outside their storefront on Tuesday 17 August.
