The former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper and captain was expected to move to another PSL club and Sundowns were tipped as his next home.
But sources close to the goalminder say Khune does not want to move to Chloorkop.
“It was just unfair that Chiefs did not want to negotiate with him in good faith, but the boy does not want to go to Sundowns,” an insider told The Citizen.
“He now has no suitors as teams will now negotiate on their terms, not Khune’s.”
Khune, who had been with Chiefs for more than a decade, was one of three big names – the others are defender Tefu Mashamaite and midfielder Mandla Masango – Chiefs announced last week they would not be offering new contracts to.
