PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A new chapter has begun in the soccer journey of talented young left wing back Vuyo Moalosi, who formerly represented the Oriented Birds Football Club in Plettenberg Bay.
Moalosi (19) got the perfect opportunity to showcase his God-given talent in Polokwane, and impressed Polokwane City Football Club's management officials overseeing the DStv Diski Challenge team.
The DStv Diski Challenge is the Premier Soccer League reserve league that features only U-23 players.
According to a reliable source, the young man from Kwanokuthula, Plettenberg Bay is doing very well in Polokwane after leaving Plett for greener pastures.
After displaying his foot-work during pre-season tryouts at Polokwane City FC, Moalosi had made his first appearance for the Polokwane City U-23 team in a league game against SuperSport United Football Club.
The sensational left wing back was in the group of athletes that played for the Kwanokuthula-based Oriented Birds in the Western Cape ABC Motsepe Provincial League in the 2023/24 season.
Moalosi, who played for various clubs in Cape Town, including FC Academy and Young Bafana FC, before he joined Oriented Birds, attended Masiyile High School in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.
Zimvo Mayekiso, Moalosi's father, told the Knysna-Plett Herald that he hoped Moalosi would have a good future in soccer, saying "I'm praying for him to carry on and perform well in what he loves most to follow, his football dream".

Mayekiso said now that Moalosi was "in the bigger professional structures, he must keep on going and work harder to achieve his goals. He must lift up his head and always focus and know exactly what he wants in his football career".
He emphasised that his son would be "starting his new journey of hope without his parents next to him", and he thanked all the clubs that had given his son "an opportunity to display his ability".
