Mashaba’s charges started brightly in the match, taking the lead in the eighth minute, thanks to a powerful header from Mulomowandau Mathoho, who had connected with a cross from Jabulani Shongwe.
The advantage didn’t last long, as the hosts hit back five minutes later through a fortunate Erick Andino, who was scored from the rebound, after captain Itumeleng Khune pulled off a great save from a Carlos Discua curler.
Mashaba reacted swiftly to the equaliser, replacing Mosa Lebusa, who was found wanting, with Clayton Daniels, 17 minutes into the game.
