KNYSNA NEWS - Under the current level 4 lockdown regulations, all amateur soccer has been placed on hold throughout the country.
In light of this, we take a look back at the last weekend of local soccer action on 26 and 27 June, with some games played on 24 June too.
The final weekend brought to an end the 2020/21 KLFA Domestic League season, with Hornlee-based outfit Red Eagles earning their fourth Domestic League title.
It will see them represent Knysna in the Safa Eden Regional League playoffs, where they will take on the winners of each of the six local football association (LFA) leagues in the Eden District – Kannaland, Hessequa, Mossel Bay, George, Oudtshoorn, Bitou and Knysna.
These playoffs will determine which sides make their way into the Safa Eden Regional League for the 2021/22 season. But, the playoffs can only take place once the country moves out of lockdown level 4 and restrictions on amateur sport are lifted. On the final weekend, Red Eagles won all three their last games, fending off fellow title contenders Flamingo, who could only muster up three draws in their last three games.
