SOUTHERN CAPE CRICKET NEWS - Pioneers Cricket Club (150/7) recorded a surprised three-wicket victory against Pacaltsdorp United (148 all out) in a match played in Plettenberg Bay during the past weekend.
Brendon Louw (61) played a match-winning innings for the men from Plettenberg Bay, while his SWD team mate Neil Hornbuckle scored 46 for Pacaltsdorp.
Carlos Koeberg (3/36) was the outstanding bowler for Pioneers.
In the Bridgton derby Union Stars (87/6) were too strong for Western Hope (84 all out) and won by four wickets. SWD bowler Hershell America (4/25) was Union Stars' top performer with the ball, while Pieter Stuurman contributed a vital knock, with 31*.
Union Stars reached the winning target in the 18th over to secure a bonus point.
