SOUTHERN CAPE CRICKET NEWS - The SWD women's cricket team will be very keen to start their campaign when they take on Eastern Province at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth this weekend in their first match of the season.
The limited over match will be played on Saturday and the T20 match will be played on Sunday.
SWD will field experienced players like Elzaan Pietersen, Julandi Saayman, Micaela Andrews, Marnazelle Rabie and Haroline Rhodes.
The young Annerie Dercksen, from Beaufort West, will make her debut for the SWD women. She excelled at last year's Cricket SA u.19 national week.
The SWD team members are: Elzaan Pietersen (Mossel Bay), Julandi Saayman (Harlequins), Bianca Figeland (Ramblers), Micaela Andrews (Union Stars), Annerie Dercksen (Sentraal), Vuyolwethu Bonya (Ramblers), Haroline Rhodes (Union Stars), Mochelle May (Riversdale), Jane Winster (Union Stars), Jeneviwe Jantjies (Union Stars), Marnazelle Rabie (Harlequins), Mbali Ndukwane (Thembalethu) and Chani Damaons (Mossel Bay). The team is coached by Shaun Pretorius and Michelle Weyers is the team manager.
