PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plettenberg Bay Pioneers got their 2022/23 SWD Women's T20 Competition campaign off to a perfect start with wins from their two matches, against Knysna Cavaliers and Kranshoek Cobras, on Saturday 8 October.
Three 17-over matches were played last weekend in New Horizons, kicking off the Knysna/Plett clubs' season.
In the first match, Pioneers beat Cavaliers by 70 runs, in the second match Pioneers beat Cobras by 83 runs and in the third and final match of the day Cavaliers beat Cobras by nine wickets.
The results mean Pioneers, the 2021/22 competition's runners-up, are undefeated after the first round. All three sides will be in action again in early/mid-November.
