RHEENENDAL NEWS - Last Sunday, 10 September, saw cricketers from all over the Garden Route come together to remember and honour the lives of one of the best cricket umpires to ever grace the game.
Four teams of cricketers were welcomed by Knysna Villagers to Sport at Backward Point for a festive and great day of cricket.
While there was the ever-present competitive edge, all in all the day was a spirited affair with everyone taking part simply to have a great day out.
The weather played along too, with some serious heat beating down on the men on the field.
Four matches were played, and at the end of the day the winners were the John Humphrey team who won both of the games they played.
