KNYSNA | BITOU NEWS - All four of the Knysna/Plett cricket clubs continue to excel in the SWD Cricket 2021/22 season, with at least one side from each club topping the table in their respective leagues.
For the Knysna Cavaliers a first win in six years against Union Stars on Saturday 29 January keeps them at the top of the Premier League.
Pirates United A's win against Thembalethu A keeps them top of their pool in Promotion League A.

Kranshoek Dolphins' win over Blanco means they still top their pool in Promotion League B and Pioneers B's triumph over their C team keeps them top of Pool A in the Reserve League.
Kranshoek Dolphins vs Blanco
Played in Kranshoek, the home team won the toss and bowled first. Jeanique Williams top-scored for Blanco with 37 runs helping to get his side to 116 all out. Wayne Oraai was once again the Dolphins' top bowler, taking four wickets for 24 runs in 10 overs.
Kevin Brouers turned out to be Dolphins' top scorer with 23 as they managed to earn a tight two-wicket victory. Didarul Alam was Blanco's bowler of the day with five wickets for 26 runs in 10 overs.
Pirates United A vs Thembalethu A
Pirates were the home team at Loerie Park, and bowled first. Anoxolo Khitshini top-scored for Thembalethu with 32 runs as his team was bowled out for 85. Justin Meyer and Zynn Plaatjies shared the spoils for Pirates with three wickets each.
Jade Titus top-scored for Pirates with 21 runs, helping get his side over the line for a five-wicket win. Enathi Khitshini was Thembalethu's best bowler, claiming three wickets for 12 runs in 10 overs.
Pioneers A vs Mossel Bay A
The home team won the toss and sent the visitors in to bat first. Garth Bock shone for Pioneers with a 77 as they made their way to 243 all out. Arno Moolman and Hanlo Nel claimed three wickets each for Mossel Bay.
Nel also impressed with the bat for Mossel Bay, top-scoring with 68 before his side was bowled out for 157. This gave Pioneers an 86-run win to keep their play-off hopes alive. Mbuyisela Malanga was their best bowler with six wickets for 25 runs in 7,4 overs.
Cavaliers A vs Union Stars A
Played in Oudtshoorn, Cavaliers won the toss and batted first. Todd Walker top-scored with 21 as the visitors were bowled out for 122. Reagon Rhode was Union Stars' top bowler with three wickets for 24 runs in seven overs.
Anver Venter was the light in Union Stars' chase, top-scoring with 28 runs before the home team was bowled out for 104, handing Cavaliers an 18-run win. Francois Bonthuys and Keenan Vieira were Cavaliers' best bowlers with three wickets each.
Pioneers B vs Pioneers C
The intra-club game was played in New Horizons on Sunday and the B team batted first. Jacques Ahrendse top-scored for the B team with 36 as they were ultimately bowled out for 192.
Alto Ghall, Nathaniel September and Kelvin Davids all took two wickets each for the C team.
It was Davids who top-scored with 20 runs before the C team was dismissed for 103 runs. This gave the B team an 89-run win to keep them top of the pool standings. Divan Luiters, Jean Deysel and Bradley Roberts took two wickets each for the B team.
Cavaliers B vs Pirates B
The age-old Knysna rivalry was played at Loerie Park where Cavaliers were asked to bowl first.
Lucien Grootboom top-scored for Pirates with 11 as his team was bowled out for 42. Blake Linder was Cavaliers' best bowler with five wickets for 22 runs in nine overs.
Trevano Thorne top-scored for Cavaliers with 14 runs as they secured a five-wicket win to stay within reach of Pioneers B at the top of the table. Edwin Lukas was Pirates' best bowler with three wickets for 11 runs in seven overs.
