KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna Cavaliers ladies’ cricket team had two solid victories last weekend, qualifying them for the SWD finals against Pacaltsdorp in Oudtshoorn this Sunday.

Match 1:
Cavaliers vs Thembalethu Hub (Mossel Bay)
In their first match in Mossel Bay, the Cavaliers took on Thembalethu Hub and opted to bowl first.
Their disciplined bowling attack restricted Thembalethu to a modest 77/8 in 20 overs.
Shanon Nicol led the charge with an outstanding 2/7, supported by Kim Malgas (1/14) and Kemrodine Swartz (1/23), who kept the opposition under constant pressure.
Chasing 78 for victory, Kemrodine Swartz steered the ship with a composed 45 off 47 balls. They would eventually win the match without losing a single wicket.
Match 2:
Cavaliers vs Dysselsdorp Cricket Club
The Cavaliers carried their momentum into the second match against Dysselsdorp Cricket Club.
Batting first, they posted an imposing 149/3 in their 20 overs, driven by a magnificent 70 from Kemrodine Swartz and a solid 43 from Kim Malgas.
The Cavaliers’ bowlers then delivered a masterclass, skittling Dysselsdorp for just 46 runs. Nicolette Sass-Jegels stole the show with a phenomenal spell of four overs, including two maidens, conceding only two runs while claiming five wickets.
Treidine Solomons (1/4 in 2 overs) and Kim Malgas (2/8 in 2 overs) also provided excellent support, ensuring an impressive victory.
