PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Two runners from Plettenberg Bay completed the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon (56km) on Saturday 5 April in under four hours, achieving silver medals.
Unathi Ndawo (32) from the Nedbank Running Club SWD (Plett section) finished in 03:49:50, at an average pace of 4:07 minutes per km.
Sivuyile Qole (38) from the Plett Athletics Club came in not far behind Unathi, in 03:50:05, also an average pace of 4:07 minutes per km.
Although hot weather was forecast for the day, it turned out to be perfect, with temperatures remaining in the low 20s for most of the run around the beautiful route, which takes in Chapman's Peak Drive, and finishes at the UCT campus.
