ATHLETICS NEWS - Greenwood Bay College held their annual interhouse athletics day last month to great success, with learners taking part in a day of fun, colour and everything athletics.
The learners-turned-athletes were divided into three colourful houses – Robberg (red), Bitou (blue) and Eden (green). The day was an all-round hit with fantastic weather overhead and tons of spirit to go around.
There would be an astonishing total of 16 records broken on the day, with Mielen Viljoen breaking five records in the U14 age group.
His outstanding efforts further earned him the day's victor ludorum award, while Selena Panadza and Sienna Mann shared the top prize of victrix ludorum.
Robberg managed to walk away with top prize with a total of 334 points for the day. Bitou came in second thanks to their 25 spirit points (which won them the spirit trophy) bringing their total to 305, while Eden scored 299 points.
