KNYSNA NEWS - The weekly club run for runners from the Knysna Marathon Club (KMC) saw them tackle a familiar route around Knysna on Sunday 29 August.
The latest route they embarked on took the group of 18 from their base of operations at their Loerie Park clubhouse up Marlin Road, before running past the Life Knysna Private Hospital. They then made their way up Duthie Drive to Pezula before heading back down the hill for a run around Leisure Isle.
From there they ran to East Head where they turned around and ran back along George Rex Drive to finish where they started at Loerie Park. KMC club captain Melikhaya Msizi thought the run was a success.
"There were quite a few hills but everybody enjoyed it and I also enjoy being able to motivate them to stick together and run together," he said.
James Ngxale in the final stretch.
For Sunday's run they tried something a little different - there was a winner-takes-all lucky draw with an entry fee of R10 where the "winner" of the run was Marshall Richtenberg.
There was also a further lucky draw with a R200 voucher courtesy of Forty Degrees which went to Khetselo Dhludhlu. The runners were also able to enjoy some Coke after their run courtesy of Sweet Square.
They will be running in Knysna once again this week, and will be repeating the winner takes all competition. Msizi invites anyone who wants to take part, to contact him on 082 625 0693 to arrange it.
