PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Muddyfoot Adventures has teamed up with Barrington's in Plettenberg Bay and thanks to some old roads, some "free-range" goats and blood sweat and tears, carved out an epic trail which will soon welcome runners.
On 31 October runners can take on two distances – about 4,5km and 9km – that loop behind Barrington's out to Ashford on the Airport Road.
Organiser James Stewart said the run will be in the form of a spoon with a small out-and-back section. The rest follows goat paths and some newly cut trails up the Klein Piesang Valley. Runners will have to use a wobbly floating bridge to cross the Klein Piesang River.
"As the event is part of the October Beer Fest, it goes without saying that all over 18s that enter online will be treated to one of Barrington's array of beers as reward for a good morning out," Stewart said. "The restaurant will be open for you to enjoy one of their hearty breakfasts after your run."
The race is set to start at 08:30 and entries can be done online from this week at www.entrytickets.net.
Entry for the 9km loop will be R110 for seniors and R80 for u.18s while the 4,5km is R80 for seniors and R50 for u.18s.
All current Covid-19 protocols will need to be adhered to. Remember to bring your mask for registration and the start/finish.
