Peter Brown, competing in the 75years+ category, attained gold medals in the 400m, 800m and 1 500m and bronze medals in the 100m and 200m. Brown was awarded with his national colours.
Marius Hugo Schlechter, competing in the 45 years+ category won the gold medal in the 1 500m.
Achievements by the other SWD members were:
- Chris van Wyk (45 years+) gold medals in long jump and javelin throw.
- Johan Windt (60 years+) gold medals in 200m, 400m and 800m.
- Lesley Stuart (70 years+) gold medals in 200m, 400m, 800m and 1 500m.
- Guste Willemse (45 years+) gold medals in 100m, long jump and triple jump.
- Toy Ungerer (65 years+) gold medals in 100m, 200m, 400m and long jump. She was also elected as the vice president of Masters Athletics South Africa.
- David Morgan Smith (75 years+) gold medals in 5 000m and 10 000m race walking. He also received his national colours.
- Thozi Morolo (35 years+) silver medal 400m.
- Heleen Knobel (45 years+) gold medals in shot put, discus, hammer, weight throw, javelin and pentathlon throws. Also received her national colours.
- Three other athletes were also awarded with national colours - Annetjie Botes, Surita Febbraio and Andries Marais.
