SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Sedgefield is littered with special beaches, and you can easily make a day of simply visiting local beaches.
Take your pick:
Swartvlei Beach – One of the most popular beaches both in (when there are lifeguards) and out of season. Don't swim alone, as there are strong rip currents.
Myoli Beach – Quiet out of season and popular with dog walkers, especially families and young adults. Strong rip currents are common here as well.
Cola Beach – Usually a very quiet beach, apart from the lone fisherman and thoughtful beach stroller.
Platbank Beach – Sedgefield's most secluded beach, accessible by foot from Myoli but can also be reached by car. Usually very quiet, and tides and currents can be strong.
Goukamma Beach – One long, 14km stretch of unadulterated beauty that lies within the Goukamma Nature Reserve and marine protected area. Usually quiet, but make sure you check the tide table, and no dogs are allowed.
