KNYSNA NEWS - DA councillor Peter Myers appeared again before an ethics committee last week in the latest of a barrage of charges against him, this time relating to an accusation that he disclosed confidential administration-related information sometime in October 2017.
It has since been established that the complainant in the matter is Julie Seton, who also goes by the surnames Jefferys and Lopes.
Seton previously tried her hand for a few months as a freelance reporter for the Knysna-Plett Herald and she alleges that during this time Myers had supplied the editor at the time, Elaine King, with confidential information.
Myers reiterates that he "categorically denies the charges" and firmly believes that this disciplinary process is part of the "ongoing personal and political vendetta" against him.
He appeared before the committee over two days (21 and 22 November) last week and arguments were heard before the matter was postponed to a date in December.
“The allegations are complete nonsense and an absolute farce which I will easily prove,” says Myers.
