KNYSNA NEWS - The new deputy mayor of Knysna is Alberto Marbi of the PBI. Marbi received 11 votes against 10 votes to Mark Willemse of the Knysna Independent Movement.
Former deputy mayor Willemse took the floor after ANC’s Thando Matika moved for his removal.
Willemse caused quite a stir with his speech, saying there is no reason to move any of the positions other than to plunder the municipality.
The new chief whip is Mboneli Khumelwana of the ANC. The ANC has now secured the positions of speaker and chief whip, with a PBI member as deputy mayor.
