KNYSNA NEWS - The Acting Municipal Manager of Knysna Municipality, Johannes Jonkers, has resigned.
Knysna Executive Mayor Aubrey Tsengwa announced the resignation yesterday (Monday 24 October), confirming he had received Jonkers' resignation letter “at the close of business”.
According to a post on the Knysna Municipality’s Facebook page, Tsengwa says Jonkers did not cite a reason for his resignation, but that it “is with immediate effect”.
Jonkers has recently been under pressure following an urgent application in the Western Cape High Court by the DA to overturn seven appointments to the offices of political office bearers in Knysna Municipality.
