Woman stabbed with fork at church

NATIONAL NEWS - A 50-year-old woman is due to appear in the New Brighton Magistrate's court in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday on a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police spokesperson, Constable Mncedi Mbombo, says the woman allegedly stabbed a 32-year-old woman in the neck with a fork after a quarrel in church on Sunday.

The incident happened in front of other church members at Nikiwe Street in New Brighton.

Constable Mbombo says other church members were able to stop the fight and the younger woman was rushed to Livingstone hospital for treatment.
