Typhoid patient dies of kidney-related ailment
NATIONAL NEWS - The Gauteng Health Department has confirmed that a typhoid fever patient, who was admitted to the Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital, has died.

The 22-year-old woman died yesterday after being discharged from the facility.

A woman, who had travelled home to Malawi last December, also died at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital last month.

However, the provincial health department’s Steve Mabona, says the latest casualty was not as a result of the fever.

“She did not die [due to] typhoid fever. She had a kidney ailment which contributed to her death.”
