This was revealed in the company’s annual report which was released earlier this morning.
Last month, the company dropped a court challenge over the Nigerian fine in a bid to reach a settlement.
MTN’s troubles in Nigeria has seen its profits falls by over 50 percent.
The mobile phone operator was fined last year by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for failing to disconnect 5,2 million unregistered sim cards.
MTN has been in and out of court in a bid to resolve the issue and has since paid $250 million towards the $3,9 billion fine.
