Metro apologises for digging up wrong grave
Tshwane metro have ensured the grave that had been dug up by accident has been closed up again.
NATIONAL NEWS - A grave at the Heatherdale cemetery was left open for nearly two weeks after it was dug up by accident.

Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said on Tuesday that the grave had been refilled and the metro apologised for any inconvenience caused.

He said the metro’s urban management division investigated and found that a reburial would have taken place next to the grave in question.

“The grave diggers opened the wrong grave since the surnames are very similar. When they realised their mistake they immediately stopped digging. However the refill of the grave was done at a later stage.”
