Engen Garage robbed, cashier locks herself in freezer
NATIONAL NEWS & VIDEO - A cashier at the Engine Garage, next to Trade Route Mall, locked herself in the freezer after a gun wielding robber fired a shot at her during the early hours of Thursday.

At about 1am, a white Fiat bakkie pulled up next to the petrol pump and the driver instructed the petrol attendant to fill the bakkie with R300 petrol.

While the attendant was filling the tank, a man exited the bakkie from the passenger door carrying a riffle and ran to the shop.

Two petrol attendants and a motorist who had seen the man run into the shop scattered away in different directions.

The robbery was caught on the petrol station’s CCTV footage.
