EFF adamant 'Die Stem' part of the anthem must go
Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema says his party wants Die Stem to be removed from the national anthem, because the hymn was sung by apartheid defence force soldiers who killed freedom fighters.
NATIONAL NEWS - Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema says his party wants Die Stem to be removed from the national anthem, because the hymn was sung by apartheid defence force soldiers who killed freedom fighters.

The EFF refuse to sing Die Stem in the national anthem and says it should be removed from Nkosi Sikeleli.

He was speaking at the American Chamber of Commerce yesterday where he told business people that the youth will not tolerate the lack of property ownership among black people.

He said the refusal to expropriate land back to the majority of citizens without compensation is at the heart of South Africa’s misfortunes.

Malema said the EFF will continue advocating for the removal of Die Stem.
