Speaking at a sitting of a full Council meeting in Uitenhage on Thursday, Jordaan said one of the biggest decisions was the team he would have to pick for the Mayoral Committee.
The Mayoral Committee is the political executive that must take charge of the different portfolios for the effective running of the city.
Jordaan said this is a huge responsibility but stressed that the team he eventually picks will be performance driven.
He added that one of his most pressing challenges is to get the budget passed after a number of concerns were raised about the Draft Budgets.
Jordaan said the draft budget was reflecting a deficit which does not bode well for the Metro's credibility and ability to borrow funds and finance investment requirements.
