Fuel production strike enters 6th day
The Chemical, Energy, Paper, Printing, Wood and Allied Workers Union (Ceppwawu) says it’s been left with no choice but to continue with its strike in the petroleum sector.
NATIONAL NEWS - The Chemical, Energy, Paper, Printing, Wood and Allied Workers Union (Ceppwawu) says it’s been left with no choice but to continue with its strike in the petroleum sector.

The industrial action is now in its sixth day and some petrol stations in Gauteng have run dry.

About 15,000 union members have downed tools, demanding a nine percent pay increase.

Talks to end the labour dispute have proved to be fruitless so far.

The union's Clement Chitja says: "We are dealing with unscrupulous multi nationals who are hell bent on making profit on our strike and leaving us poverty stricken."
