KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna detectives are investigating the stabbing to death of a 20-year-old man in White Location, Knysna.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicated the victim was stabbed with a "sharp object" at "premises" in Sisulu Street at around 3:00 on Sunday 16 June.
On arrival at the scene, police found the man had been stabbed twice in the chest.
He was declared dead by paramedics.
The Knysna-Plett Herald was told separately that the victim was a Grade 12 pupil at Percy Mdala High School in Khayalethu, Knysna, and had been killed while at a tavern.
Police said the initial probe had led to the arrest of a 22-year-old suspect.
He appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on Wednesday 19 June, on a charge of murder. The suspect had abandoned a bail application and was remanded in custody.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the crime were being investigated.
