KNYSNA NEWS - The Oriented Birds or Yellow Marines as they are affectionately known narrowly missed out on the 2025/26 Eden Regional League title after finishing second behind Moonlight FC of Dysselsdorp.

The Marines enjoyed a strong campaign, winning 21 matches, drawing five and losing eight, ending the season on 68 points, seven behind Moonlight, who claimed the title with 75 points.

They also scored an impressive 73 goals, but dropped some crucial points during the closing stages of the season.

La Liga, another Knysna side, finished third on 64 points after remaining in contention for much of the campaign.

Voota FC ended fifth on 60 points, while FC United secured sixth place with 53 points. Bitou Young Pirates completed the season in seventh on 51 points, giving the Garden Route a strong representation in the league’s top eight.
